Beads of Courage ZIA

Diva challenge #271

This is my first official tangle challenge from the Iamthedivaczt  blog. It’s a fun one to try and has the bonus of being inspired by a great cause.

The ZIA challenge: Paint splotch the 3.5 tile and tangle beads:) I used:

  • Water color pencils for paint splotches
  • 01 Sakura black micron
  • Gelly Roll gold pen

About Beads of Courage…

I am just learning about Beads of Courage. The Diva, Laura, shares her poignant family stories on her website (http://iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com), along with her creative and inspiring weekly tangle challenges. It feels like participating in this tangle challenge is a supportive cheer for this good cause that helps children cope with treatments for their health conditions. Beads of Courage: What a beautiful thing to acknowledge courage, give hope, and support to kids (and their families) as they tackle the personal challenges of illness.

Also, what a generous and beautiful thing, Laura, the Diva does every week to inspire art and creativity! Since I am “newer” to the Zentangle method, weekly challenges at once inspire and scare me, but I know I will be back to try some more.

Summer reading A-D

As a librarian, I am good friends with alphabetical order. I am having fun creating my summer reading list of 26 books – in alphabetical order by title or author – LOL.  Excited to start summer reading – today:)

Here is the top of the reading pile, A-D:

All middle grade titles (ages 9-12)

Audacity Jones by Kirby Larson  Hoping indeed that “everything will turn out splendid in the end” as the book blurb entices…

The BFG  by Roald Dahl (again- yes, because of the movie)

The Candymakers by Wendy Mass (on audio so I can tangle  – see other part of this blog if you are interested in finding out what tangling is… I started this novel some time ago, but so many kids wanted it from the library – I had to let it go… excited for the audio version.

DiCamillo, Kate  Raymie Nightingale  Because it is by Kate DiCamillo:)

Hope your summer reading is off to a good start too:)
