Poetry Friday/Spine Poetry/Summer Reading
Summer Reading (Spine Poem)
The Hidden Life of Trees
The Wonder of Small Things
The Book of Alchemy
Some Starry Night
The joy of a “starter” stack of summer reading on my table holds the sweet promise of new learning, inspiration, and relaxing entertainment. I’m looking forward to digging in. It also creates a fun spine poem!
Nonfiction, poetry, a book on creativity and a what-if historical-fantasy…it’s nice to savor this stack and look forward to summer days reading on the porch and on the beach.
Happy Poetry Friday! This week’s round up is hosted by Buffy Silverman her “Soggy Edition.” Check out the cutest frog pic, a royal poem and more Poetry Friday poems linked there.
Happy reading! Jill

That looks like a great stack of summer reading!
Thanks Buffy and happy summer to you:)
Jill, fun stack of books. I was happy to be reminded that I have Some Starry Night on my Kindle. I just opened it and got started!

Hi Margaret, that’s awesome, looks like we both have some great choices. Happy summer reading!
I love how they are all different genres yet somehow connected. Happy reading!
Thanks Rose:) Yes, I’m excited about this mix of genres. Hope you enjoy some wonderful summer reading too!
I have Some Starry Night on my nightstand. And I also have The Language of Trees which I spent a lot of time with as I was writing Tilt.
Thanks Jone, glad to know our book piles overlap:) I’m excited about this stack, and I look forward to adding your verse novel Tilt to a new stack! (maybe in another spine poem too:)
That’s such an inviting stack, Jill. Enjoy!
Thanks Karen, I’m excited to dig in:) Happy summer reading to you!
I love that summer allows us to open the window, listen to the birds, and read. Nice selection. You will love Irene’s Some Starry Night. Happy reading!
Cathy, glad to know you’ve already read Irene’s book:) I’m excited to read it. What a neat idea and genre twist. Hope you enjoy your summer reading too, and yes, to these sweet summer days of open windows and birds singing as we turn the pages:)
